Demi Plié is a design project that combines artisanal wisdom with an innovative approach led to a new dialogue, a meeting between Zuccon International Project and DTales.
Demi Plié, an essential and poetic folding camp bed, born from an idea by Bernardo Zuccon, inspired by a forgotten object and reinterpreted with a technical and narrative approach that merges function and beauty.
During one of his research projects, Bernardo Zuccon discovered a folding cot—essential in its form, yet rich in history. This discovery sparked a silent dialogue of observation and study, a reflection on how such an intelligent, almost archetypal object could be reinterpreted today. The desire to bring it back to life through a project that combines artisanal wisdom with an innovative approach led to a new dialogue, a meeting between Zuccon International Project and DTales.
The folding cap bed explores the boundary between function and poetry, between memory and innovation. An objects that is the result of an authentic dialogue between design, material, and culture.
This was not a simple collaboration, but the beginning of a profound exchange between two complementary visions: on one side, the culture of detail and respect for materials, capable of transforming an object into an experience; on the other, an innovative design approach that can transform a suggestion into a tangible form and function. The result is Demi Plié.
More than just a product, it is a gesture—a movement that evokes dance, lightness, and transformation. It is the synthesis of ingenuity and poetry, and the answer to the need for both space and beauty. It is the materialization of a journey built on passion, discussion, and creative complicity.
To create it, DTales’ craftsmanship was combined with the R&D department of Zuccon International Project. Thanks to computerized prototypes and advanced 3D modeling studies, it was possible to analyze the load points, stresses, and most efficient movements to ensure stability and ease of folding and unfolding without sacrificing elegance.
The final result reinterprets memory through the elegance of design. A shared vision of a design that is not just form, but also narrative and identity.
The camp bed is available in teak or mahogany, selected for their weather resistance and the natural warmth of the wood. The metal components will have a ceramic finish.
The fabrics, the result of an exclusive collaboration with Pierre Frey, a French textile house of excellence, will be customisable in a wide range of colours, textures, and patterns, to adapt to any style, from classic to contemporary, and to ensure maximum ergonomic comfort and durability even outdoors.
The Demi Plié camp bed, designed by the Roman studio and realised by Dtales, will debut at the Monaco Yacht Show 2025, taking place from September 24 to 27 in the Principality of Monaco.
