An icon, reimagined. This Bespoke Edition of a classic Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead is the fruit of a profound synergy between the coachbuilding expertise of Aznom and the forward-thinking craftsmanship of Dtales.
This bespoke project represents the pinnacle of Italian craftsmanship meeting British automotive royalty. Developed in partnership with Aznom, this 2008 Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead has been transformed from a rare icon into a singular masterpiece of contemporary design.
Inspired by the sleek, aerodynamic elegance of 1930s J-Class racing yachts, the project breathes new life into the “aristocrat of convertibles.” By marrying Aznom’s coachbuilding heritage with the forward-thinking technical artistry of Dtales, we have replaced the traditional with the exceptional, ensuring this vehicle remains a timeless expression of prestige.
At the heart of this transformation is a radical departure from conventional luxury. In collaboration with Dtales, the static nature of traditional burr walnut has been replaced by a rhythmic, “vibrant horizon” that envelops the cabin. We engineered a complex geometric pattern—a laser-sculpted mosaic composed of four distinct wood essences intertwined with cold steel inserts.
This continuous marquetry flows seamlessly across the dashboard, door panels, and the expansive tonneau cover.
Achieving this required surgical precision, as rigid materials were meticulously hand-fitted to the challenging, fluid curves of the interior, creating a visual depth that shifts beautifully with the light.
The architectural rigor of the wood and metal inlay finds its perfect counterpoint in the renewed upholstery.
The cabin is swathed in a vibrant, high-contrast orange leather, a daring choice that amplifies the intricate details of the marquetry.
This dialogue between the warmth of the hide and the coolness of the steel creates a multi-sensory experience that is both indulgent and avant-garde.
Every surface, from the steering wheel to the convertible top cover, has been reconsidered to ensure that British engineering finds its ultimate evolution through Italian artistic sensitivity—resulting in a piece of automotive art that is as much a sanctuary as it is a statement.
